i am building a rotisserie bbq pretty mch like a large pig roast rotisserie just on a smaller scale maybe just for a couple chickens or roasts. The barrel was lines with a very thick back and the bag had chemicals in it but the barrel is very clean. some have told me that i can use it but someone told me that i can only use “food grade” barrels.????

I wouldn’t worry about the chemicals that were in the bag but there is probably an anti-rust coating on the inside of the barrel. Build the grill then make a big hot fire in it to burn off any coatings or other residue before cooking anything.
